Current State of Development: The basic structure is built, profiles can be created and searched, sessions can be scheduled and livestreams can be created. You can add livestreams and sessions to your calendar via iCalendar. Stripe and PayPal, which I think can include Venmo, are now fully integrated.
I am now working through the "Coming Soon"s.
I am also working on a secret project that relates to Digital Gig Collective and that I am quite excited about :) I can't tell you what it is now, but when it's ready I'd love to send you a link!

All arrangements are entirely between you and the instructor. If you are taking a class, you pay the instructor directly, no money comes through this webapp. This webapp cannot take any responsibility for the outcome of your classes, or arrange for refunds. This is described fully in the terms.

Vision

Vision

We find ourselves in abnormal and extreme circumstances with social distancing, self-quarantine/isolation, and government-enforced lockdowns.

Many people are stuck at home, and many people need to find a new way to get some income, as their income has suddenly been ripped out from underneath them.

Many people also need to find a way of relieving the boredom and lack of social contact during this time.

A musician who can expect to earn $40 or more an hour for a gig, who can't go out is no longer earning that money. Instead they can offer instruction for a similar price, or other online services, such as practicing together, 5 minute motivational sessions (e.g. "Practice this track and play it to me tomorrow") and so on, for much lower prices, without diminishing their hourly rate.

This allows the wider audience, who may also have been hit financially by this pandemic, to find affordable options.

Artists may well also be running livestreams, which can be listed and linked to here, to help organize what is available

Example: A dance instructor offers daily 5 minute motivational sessions for $20 per week ($4/session). If 12 people decide to do this, the instructor can make $240/week for 1 hour of work every day, spread throughout the day, or condensed into around one hour.
This is all negotiated one on one between the two parties.
